Who can be listed
Three categories, and no others.
Occupational health providers offering services relevant to skin and to workers exposed to wet work, cold, chemical contact or prolonged glove use.
Advisers to employers on health and safety in outdoor, coastal, marine and water based work, where skin and cold exposure are part of what they cover.
Clinical services in dermatology and physiotherapy that are relevant to people who work outdoors, whether NHS, independent or charitable.
Admission criteria
Checked before publication and rechecked every twelve months.
- A verifiable legal identity: registered name, registered address, and company, partnership or charity number where one exists.
- Professional registration with the relevant United Kingdom regulator, where the party or its named practitioners are in a regulated profession, with the register and the number supplied so that a reader can check it independently.
- A named contact with a role, who is a real person at the organisation.
- A description of services written without superlatives, without outcome claims and without statistics, which we may edit for those reasons and for no others.
- Written agreement to these standards, including the statement that the listing is not an endorsement.
- No claim, in the entry or on the party's own material, that being listed here constitutes approval, accreditation, endorsement or assessment by this publication.
Rates
These are our own published prices, set by this publication. They are the only monetary figures that appear anywhere on this site.
All disclosed fields, alphabetical position, labelled as a paid listing, verified at publication and again at twelve months.
One further category in which the same entry appears. Same entry, same facts, same label.
One clearly labelled sponsor line, placed after the editorial content and visually separated from it.
As above, across three consecutive issues.
Prices exclude VAT where applicable. Payment is by invoice and in advance. If we refuse an entry after payment, the payment is returned in full.
What the money cannot buy
- Position. The register is alphabetical and the order does not change.
- A mention in an article. Not once, not ever, and not as an example.
- An editorial link. No link from any article to any listed party.
- Sight of anything before publication. No previews, no approvals, no comment rounds.
- A veto. On any subject, any article, any wording.
- Removal of accurate material. At any price, from anyone.
- A badge, a seal or an accreditation. We accredit nobody.
- Category exclusivity. We will keep writing about your subject and will not stop or soften it.
- Subscriber data. Newsletter addresses are never passed to sponsors or to anyone else.
- A softer referral line. The point at which we tell readers to see a pharmacist, a GP or emergency services is not adjustable.
What we will not list at any price
Publishing this is the part that costs money, so it is the part worth publishing.
- Anyone selling a product to consumers, of any kind, including preparations for skin. This is a publication that names no product and it is not going to list the people who make them.
- Anyone offering a treatment, device or programme claiming to repair, rebuild or restore the skin barrier.
- Anyone whose material makes outcome claims we cannot check, or quotes statistics without a citable source.
- Supplement, nutrition and wellness services, and any cold exposure programme sold on health outcomes.
- Cosmetic and aesthetic clinics offering appearance based procedures, which are not what this register is for.
- Anyone offering diagnosis or treatment by questionnaire, chat or photograph without a clinician.
- Anyone requiring an amendment to these standards, a promotional adjective, a ranked position, a best of designation or any editorial consideration as a condition of payment.
- Anyone who has asked us to remove or soften accurate published material.
- Lead generation intermediaries that do not disclose who the enquiry is passed to.
How refusals work
We refuse on the published criteria, in writing, with the reason stated. The fee is returned in full. We do not negotiate the criteria, and an entry cannot be bought into a category it does not belong in.
Applying
Write to us through the contact page with the disclosed fields listed on the register page. We will tell you within a fortnight whether the entry meets the criteria.
